          Fair start... still deciding.

First, I would recommend that Bishop tell most individuals, if you weigh less than 130lbs. you should have the option to start with the soft spring in the binding and never have to use the original spring. Now that soft spring is in - I had to order from another ski shop since Utah and Bishop did not have any in stock - I am able to bend a knee similar to when I ski my 22D Vice bindings. I love that Bishop (and only Bishop) give us the opportunity to use the binding before giving up the 75mm duck bill boots. I honestly don't think the heel throw works perfectly with the 75mm - I seem to have to still reach down to secure it in place and I have been playing with the placement/adjustment of where the heel throw sits for my boot. I wonder if the heel throw works better with NTN boots? but it is not terrible, just not perfect. I also wonder if the power needed to bend a knee is less in NTN boots than my old Garmont Elektra 75mm boots. The boots definitely have to be tighter on my foot to get a good turn. I have very very positive vibes about this binding. I had fun skiing them today (first day with soft springs) and assume I will just get more used to them as I ski them and maybe soften the spring even more (I have the setting at the softest). That is my honest review.

Thank you Keren for taking the time to give this feedback!! That's actually a great idea to recommend starting with soft springs for skiers under a certain weight threshold. The heel-boot interface is more affected by the boot model than NTN vs 75mm, as different boot models have differently shaped heels. Some older boots (which are typically 75mm) may require you reach down to get the heel just right. Sometimes playing with the position of the heel cup (more or less pre-load) can resolve this. Bomber, like the good old days.

This is my first NTN setup, after retiring from telemark skiing altogether 15 years ago. Realizing that not every day can be a powder day, I decided to resume telemark skiing for those in-bounds, groomer days and the BMF/3 appeared to be the tool of choice. This thing is so beefy, I pulled it right out of a pair of Faction Agent 3s that lack a metal layer. After replacing the lightweight boards for some with a couple of titanal layers, I'm good to go. Love the step in and sturdy feel. Brakes are good; much better than leashes from days gone by. Still getting used to NTN, but overall, I'm on board, so to speak. These things could stand to shave an ounce or two.

Thank you, David! Indeed, our binders are beefy. Sorry to hear you ripped them from your Factions! Of course, we'd recommend mounting them to some Bishop skis, which have a reinforced mounting area (our TELEM-ARC TECH), designed specifically for the forces of a telemark binding. As far as their weight, well, it's all about trade-offs. We're focused on the down, so we prioritize BEEF over all else. Glad to hear you're back on teles and that we could play a part!

          SO AWESOME!!!

I just got the BMFs and It's AMAZING! I had been on G3 7tm tele/touring, and I can't belief how beautiful these bindings feel in my old 75m boots! I'm so happy that I'm not wrestling-on my heels anymore. Great design. Great work.
          Thank you!

Heck yeah! We love hearing this. Welcome to the future!

          Perfection!!!!

Had passed on my BMFR to my daughter and been on other NTN bindings for a few years. Decided to go back to BMFs and couldn’t be happier! Nothing wrong with the other ones, but to me the combo of smooth flex, power and edge control that the BMF offers is just absolute perfection. Thanks for putting out such an awesome product folks!!!!

It's clear that you have superb taste. Thanks for the kind words!
