I’ve been tele skiing since the early 90s. Earned a level 3 PSIA cert in the early 00s. I’ve been on a lot of tele gear through the years including the Bomber Bindings. I have been skiing the BMF3 and instantly knew on the first go that this binding is my nirvana. So, I had to try the Gonzos. I just received the skis and am waiting for the 24/25 season to begin. I’m excited! Traditional camber and a design made to flex with a free heel binding. I detuned the tips and tails ever so slightly, waxed them and installed the BMF3. Bishop was kind enough to drill and mount their adapter plate. I’m boot sole center on ski center …just how I like it. Thank you Bishop! The innovation is stellar!
It will be a while before I can try them out but they look great!
Not enough time on real snow. Skiing indoors. So far bindings feel stiff and precise. Probably should take down some of the stiffness. Skis themselves love to turn. Bindings help to get to the next turn.
Alpine turns are a breeze.
Quality material and I absolutely love the graphics. However, just unless your built like a 12 year old girl size up. Under arms and through the chest is form fitting. Dudes that love IPAs should commit to the XL+.
...and repairs were needed! Great design allowed me to easily separate the bindings from their plates (which remained mounted to the skis) and ship them off to Colorado. Techs gave me an estimate and then repaired them for considerably less than the estimate. Nice work!
I don't often post reviews , but in this case, it's necessary. First off, i know they're not cheap. However, these are by far the best telemark bindings ever produced! The power transfer compared to all other NTN bindings is off the charts. Such a consistent and smooth flex pattern. I was doubtful they were worth it, but they are. Step in step out is easy, and they look like they are built to last. Just do it !
I've now skied the Chedis on hardpack and deep pow and am banging my head wondering why I didn't buy these years ago. I went from a rear mounted big rocker tip with much less underfoot camber to a more confident, faster, and versatile ski. I adore the additional sidecut and the playfulness of the camber I feel in transition. Pretty excited to do more touring into different snow types to see what it's limitations are but it's literally perfect for my style of skiing (fast, aggressive turns) Haven't dove deep into Bishops binding since I already have a pair of outlaws but will give it a go with a demo this winter.
Woo to the hoo! This ski is fun! Snappy and quick, a blast to play on at the resort. It turns in the bumps, it puts a smile on your face when it's playtime. Yay Bishop!
Such a sweet binding. I'm coming off of a few seasons on another brand's NTN setup and those were good but these are great. Step in and release is dialed! Power transfer is fantastic. I've got them on a pair of Chedis and I am stoked on the package!
I've got my first few days in on the east coast and I love these skis. Big stable rippers at speed that are so light and playful that making tight turns is effortless as well. Really confidence-inspiring. I've got the BMF/R bindings on and they are sweet. So easy to get in and out of. I'm really happy with this new setup!
I notice how much easier it is to telemark all day long and feel the BMF/R bindings are the pivoting strength of the skier-skis. I do like more flex in the movement, so purchased the softer springs. I skied with the stiff springs at the most relaxed settling that gave great control, but I was unable to put my knee on the ski. Will switch to the softer springs for another day tomorrow!
I skied the Bishop Gonzo at Jay Peak in the Northeast Kingdom in Vermont today 12/13/23. I noticed they don't bounce around in the mixture of conditions (powder, packed powder, hard pack and skier chopped up snow). Other telemark skis I have used do bounce, which means loses edge control.

I grew up skiing in Europe, and have been to over 160 ski areas/resorts, and over 20 years as a certified Telemark instructor; and during that time, I have tried/demo'ed or owned just about every Telemark binding available. I had a chance over 2-days at Monarch Colorado in early April 2021 to demo and test-fly the BISHOP BMF bindings. I had a very specific decision criteria;
(1) High speed alpine turns with ski race coaches - CHECK!
(2) Moguls, Bumps, Variable terrain - CHECK!
(3) Terrain Park, jumps and kickers - CHECK!
(4) All mountain, all terrain Telemark cruising - CHECK!
(5) Kick-and-Glide on flats and traverses - CHECK!
10 OUT OF 10 THEY PERFORMED FLAWLESSLY across the entire spectrum of what a Telemark binding should do!
In the first day alone, I was completely convinced that I found my new Telemark bindings! BMF are rugged, reliable, and solidly designed and built. I have since had a number of my Telemark students buy Bishop bindings and be completely delighted with them.
